About me
My Background and Experience
Hi! I am Joanna. As is the case for most of us, life has presented me with many personal challenges. Over the years, counselling has enabled me to not only cope in difficult times, but to learn about myself and grow. It is my first-hand experience of the transformative power of good therapy which fuels my passion to help my clients to work through their own challenges and evolve.
Following a career in the city and many years working part time and raising a family, I worked as a coach, helping people achieve their weight loss and fitness goals. Following a number of personal traumas and a lot of therapy, I decided to change direction, be brave and fulfil my life long dream to become a therapist. And here I am today, working with a diverse range of clients, helping them deal with their personal challenges and move towards self awareness, self acceptance, growth, change and peace.
I have experience working with individuals and couples who are facing a wide range of issues including those related to their relationships, anxiety, stress, depression, self esteem, bereavement, life change and personal growth.
I have a keen interest in the psychology of relationships of any kind and I hold an Advanced Certificate in Couples Therapy, accredited by COSRT (College of Sexual Relationship Therapists). I offer therapy to those who may be dealing with crises such as infidelity, divorce or a sexual issue as-well as those who feel dissatisfied or frustrated in other areas of their relationship. I also work with couples who would just like to improve their relational intelligence to build a deeper connection and those who are preparing for a relationship change such as marriage or opening up to ethical non monogamy.
